B2 Bomber
2019 – present · Pattern studies of the B-2 stealth bomber silhouette for a painting series · Colors sampled from a photo of dried heirloom corn from my mother’s garden
In 2019 I came across a radio-frequency-blocking pigment at a store in New York and went down a rabbit hole that left me obsessed with the silhouette of the B-2 stealth bomber. For years I tried to turn the idea into something physical with natural materials, and I started painting the shapes in 2022. Then my life fell apart. The canvases are in storage now, and these digital pattern studies are what’s left to trace the thought. They were black and white until I filled them with colors sampled from a photo of dried heirloom corn from my mother’s garden.
